So about a year ago I was invited by one of my favorite San Diego photographers, Shannon from Studio Carré, to assist on a styled shoot in the historic Mt. Woodson Castle. After months of planning, by the members of San Diego Weddings of Distinction & some wonderful creative minds, this elaborate steam punk themed wedding photo shoot was born.
From the dresses to hair styles, to the cake & even the boutonnières – nothing was left without a mechanical, vintage or industrial touch to it. A little offbeat from the traditional wedding themes I’ve seen, this photo shoot was so fun to be a part of & really made me feel like a chrononaut (steam punk term for a person who travels in time)! I pretty much fell in love with all of the steampunk cogs, gizmos & details that really pulled this whole inspiration shoot together. I definitely went snap happy at this elaborate photo shoot. It was an all-day affair with 6 models, 3 different dresses made by some lovely textiliers (makers of fine quality steampunk clothing), multiple bouquets, signature cocktails & all of this was shot in a castle! How crazy cool is that?!
