I love how photography can reconnect you with people you haven’t seen in a while. A new year means new beginnings including the birth of new chapters in our lives. One of the best feelings you can have when catching up with someone you haven’t seen in a while, is to find out that during the time in which you have lost touch, they have been taking small steps towards making big changes for the communities around them.
Meet Olivia — an amazingly dedicated young woman, with the biggest smile that radiates directly from her huge heart for social change. 5 years ago we were graduating from high school with vague ideas of where we would be today. There is no doubt in my mind that an inspired & determined drive to make an impact on the world really sparked throughout her college years. The flames that are constantly fueled from her vibrant spirit now motivates Olivia to help lead a team of powerful women entrepreneurs that promote health, fitness, and self-love to at-risk girls through their foundation, The Live Well Project.
She asked if I could take some photos + head shots of her here in the city where we both grew up. The hustle & bustle of metropolitan San Francisco can truly be inspirational. Before shooting, she brought me up to speed on her international & local experiences that inspired her. The shoot was nothing less than the luminous radiance she omitted even after a period of constant rain storms here in the city. I could not be more supportive of the big plans she has in store & cannot wait to see what she pioneers in the years to come!
